Golden Glazed Chicken
Makes: ± 600ml Oven: 220 °C / 430 °F
Preparation Time: 1 hour 15 minutes Grilling Time: 15 – 20 minutes
Ingredients
| 125 | ml | Apple cider vinegar (½ Cup) |
| 360 | g | Tomato sauce |
| 120 | g | Brown sugar |
| 70 | ml | Worcestershire sauce (4 Tbsp + 3 tsp) |
| 30 | ml | Dijon mustard (2 Tbsp) |
| 5 | ml | Black pepper (1 tsp) |
| 10 | ml | Paprika (2 tsp) |
| 10 | ml | Onion powder (2 tsp) |
| 10 | ml | Garlic powder (2 tsp) |
| 120 | ml | Water |
| 15 | ml | Bovril (1 Tbsp) |
| 850 | g | Chicken (Cut of your choice) |
Method
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients, except the Bovril, and mix until well combined.
- Pour the sauce into a pan and over medium heat, bring to a boil for 5 minutes, while stirring.
- To thicken the sauce, cover the pot with a lid and lower the heat. Add the Bovril and allow the sauce to simmer for a further 10 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the pot from the heat and allow to cool, for at least 15 minutes.
- Place the chicken in the sauce, making sure all the chicken is evenly coated. Place the chicken in a roasting pan and pour the remaining sauce over the chicken. Cover the pan with aluminium foil.
- Roast in preheated oven at 220 °C / 430 °F for 25 – 30 minutes, turning the meat and basting it after 10 minutes. With the last remaining 5 minutes, set the oven to grill to get a golden – brown finish and serve.
