Bovril, Garlic and Herb Sirloin Steak

Ingredients

15 ml Dijon mustard (1 Tbsp)
30 ml Olive oil (2 Tbsp)
30 ml Worcestershire sauce (2 Tbsp)
30 ml Bovril (2 Tbsp)
2 Garlic cloves, finely chopped (1 Tbsp / 15 ml)
15 ml Thyme, finely chopped (1 Tbsp)
5 ml Salt (1 tsp)
5 ml Black pepper (1 tsp)
1,2 kg Sirloin steak, 6 x 200g each

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix all marinade ingredients. Rub the marinade generously over the steaks. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the steaks from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to come to room temperature.
  3. Braai over hot coals for 3 – 5 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate and let the steak rest for 7 minutes and serve with Creamy Bovril and mushroom sauce.
